PM-KISAN 18th Installment to be Released: Check Eligibility and eKYC Process
The 18th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme is set to be released on October 5, 2024. This scheme provides crucial financial assistance to small and marginal farmers across India, with each eligible farmer receiving ₹6,000 annually, paid in three equal installments. The last payment was disbursed in June 2024 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Farmers can check their eligibility by visiting the official PM-KISAN website and ensuring their eKYC is updated to avoid any disruptions in future payments. The eKYC process can be completed online, through biometric verification, or using face authentication via the PM-KISAN app. Read on to learn how to check your name on the beneficiary list and ensure you're eligible for this important income support.

The Government of India is set to release the 18th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on October 5, 2024. Under this initiative, small and marginal farmers across the country receive ₹6,000 annually, divided into three equal payments of ₹2,000. The last payment in the series was disbursed on June 18, 2024, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The PM-KISAN scheme is designed to offer much-needed financial support to farmers who own up to 2 hectares of agricultural land. The payments are made directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts, ensuring that farmers receive the funds in a timely manner without any bureaucratic delays. This direct transfer mechanism is part of the government's larger effort to uplift farmers and enhance their economic stability, particularly in rural areas.

Who Benefits from the PM-KISAN Scheme?

The primary beneficiaries of the PM-KISAN scheme are small and marginal farmers who hold up to 2 hectares of cultivable land. These farmers receive financial assistance that can be used to cover essential expenses, contributing to their overall livelihood and agricultural productivity. By offering direct income support, the scheme aims to alleviate the financial burdens many farmers face, allowing them to focus on improving their agricultural practices and outputs.

The funds are credited directly into the farmer’s bank accounts, making the entire process straightforward and efficient. With the upcoming 18th instalment, the government continues its commitment to providing this critical support to farmers across the country.

How to Check Your Eligibility

To verify if you are eligible for the PM-KISAN scheme, you can follow a simple online process. Here's how:

  1. Visit the official PM-KISAN website.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Beneficiary List’ page.
  3. Select your state, district, sub-district, block, and village.
  4. Click on the 'Get Report' button to view the beneficiary list and check if your name is included.

Alternatively, the beneficiary list is also displayed at local Panchayat offices for added transparency. By ensuring that you are listed as a beneficiary, you can guarantee your eligibility to receive the upcoming instalment.

How to Complete Your eKYC

To continue receiving benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme, farmers are required to complete their eKYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) process. This step is crucial to avoid any disruptions in receiving future payments. Farmers have three options to complete their eKYC:

  • OTP-Based eKYC: This can be done through the PM-KISAN portal or mobile app. An OTP (One-Time Password) is sent to the registered mobile number, allowing farmers to complete the verification process easily from their phone or computer.
  • Biometric eKYC: Farmers can visit Common Service Centres (CSCs) or State Seva Kendras (SSKs) to complete their biometric verification. This method uses fingerprint or iris scans to authenticate the user.
  • Face Authentication-Based eKYC: Available through the PM-KISAN Mobile App, this feature allows farmers to complete their eKYC by simply using face recognition technology.

Keeping your eKYC information up to date is essential for uninterrupted payment transfers. Farmers who do not complete this process may experience delays or interruptions in receiving future instalments, so it’s important to ensure that the eKYC process is completed well before the next payment date.

Don’t forget to check the beneficiary list and complete your eKYC using any of the available methods to avoid missing out on future payments.
