Apple Introduces AirPods 4 with USB-C Charging and Active Noise Cancellation: All You Need to Know
Apple has unveiled its new AirPods 4, featuring a standard version and an ANC model with advanced noise cancellation, improved audio quality, and a USB-C charging case. Priced at Rs 12,900 for the standard and Rs 17,900 for the ANC variant, pre-orders start today, with availability beginning on September 20, 2024. The AirPods 4 promises enhanced comfort and unique gesture controls for a more personalized listening experience.

Apple has launched its fourth-generation AirPods, known as AirPods 4, alongside the highly anticipated iPhone 16 series at the "It's Glowtime" event. The AirPods 4 have been designed to offer superior sound quality, enhanced comfort, and an array of advanced features. Available in two variants — a standard model and a version with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) — these new earbuds mark a significant upgrade from their predecessors.

New Features and Design

The AirPods 4 showcase a redesigned acoustic architecture aimed at delivering richer bass and clearer highs. To ensure maximum comfort, Apple has meticulously analyzed thousands of ear shapes, optimizing the earbuds' design for a better fit. This makes the AirPods 4 more comfortable for prolonged use, and suitable for a wide range of users.

The ANC version of the AirPods 4 introduces Active Noise Cancellation for the first time in an open-ear design, providing a more immersive listening experience by blocking out external noise. This version also features Transparency Mode, allowing users to hear and interact with their surroundings when needed, and Adaptive Audio, which automatically adjusts sound settings based on the user’s environment. Both versions of the AirPods 4 are powered by Apple’s new H2 chip, which supports Personalized Spatial Audio, improved voice isolation for clearer calls, and more efficient performance.

Gesture Controls and Improved Functionality

The new AirPods 4 also introduces innovative gesture controls that allow users to perform actions with simple head movements. For example, nodding can answer a call, while shaking the head can decline or respond to a Siri command. This feature will also be available in AirPods Pro via a software update. These intuitive gesture controls make the AirPods 4 more user-friendly, providing a seamless and hands-free experience.

Pricing and Availability

The standard AirPods 4 model is priced at $129 (approximately Rs 12,900 in India), while the ANC version is available for $179 (around Rs 17,900). Pre-orders for both versions of the AirPods 4 have begun, with the earbuds set to hit stores and online platforms starting September 20, 2024.

Why You Should Consider the AirPods 4

The AirPods 4 offers a perfect blend of cutting-edge technology, user comfort, and enhanced audio performance. Whether you choose the standard version or the ANC model, you will benefit from Apple's latest advancements in audio engineering, gesture control, and adaptive listening features. The USB-C charging case also ensures faster and more convenient charging, a much-requested upgrade among users.
