Her remarkable career, spanning nearly four decades, has been filled with prestigious roles, and this new appointment sets a significant milestone in the Indian Armed Forces, making her the highest-ranking woman officer to ever serve in the military.

The DGAFMS is an essential part of the Ministry of Defence, responsible for shaping and implementing medical policies across the three branches of the Indian Armed Forces.
