Apple Refreshes AirPods Max with New Colors and USB-C Charging
Apple has refreshed its AirPods Max with five new colours and USB-C charging, aligning with EU regulations. The headphones also support new features like Personalized Spatial Audio with the iOS 18 update. Priced at Rs 59,900, they are available for pre-order now, with sales starting on September 20, 2024.

Apple has refreshed its AirPods Max, unveiling an updated version of its premium over-ear headphones at the recent "It's Glowtime" event. Despite widespread rumours about the release of a second-generation model, Apple chose to enhance the original AirPods Max with a few notable updates rather than launching an entirely new version.

The updated AirPods Max now comes in five fresh colours: Starlight, Midnight, Purple, Orange, and Blue. This new colour palette aims to appeal to a broader audience, adding a touch of personalization and style to Apple's top-of-the-line headphones. In addition to the new colours, Apple has made a significant change to the AirPods Max's charging capabilities, transitioning to a USB-C port. This update is in response to the European Union's regulatory requirements, which mandate the adoption of USB-C as a universal charging standard across all electronic devices.

Beyond the aesthetic and charging updates, Apple has announced that the AirPods Max will receive new features with the upcoming iOS 18 update. One of the most anticipated features is Personalized Spatial Audio, a technology previously available only on the AirPods Pro. This feature customizes the audio experience to the listener's ear shape, providing an immersive sound experience that adapts to each user's unique profile. The introduction of Personalized Spatial Audio aims to enhance the listening experience by delivering richer and more dynamic sound, making it a compelling reason for existing AirPods Max users to upgrade their devices.

The AirPods Max retain their premium status with these updates, offering superior sound quality, noise cancellation, and a luxurious design. The headphones have always been recognized for their exceptional build quality, with memory foam ear cushions and a breathable knit mesh canopy for comfort during extended listening sessions. With the addition of new colours and USB-C charging, Apple has given fans of the AirPods Max a reason to get excited once again, even if the changes are more evolutionary than revolutionary.

The AirPods Max are available for pre-order starting today, with in-store availability beginning on September 20. The headphones are priced at Rs 59,900, maintaining their position in the premium segment of the market.

For those who value high-fidelity audio and a seamless integration with Apple's ecosystem, the updated AirPods Max presents a compelling option. While this refresh may not include groundbreaking new technology, it underscores Apple's commitment to enhancing its product lineup in line with regulatory requirements and evolving consumer preferences.
